This Portland band debuts with a wonderfully spot-on album of punkish power-pop with a dash of Motown that hearkens back to the poppier side of the '70s British punk scene (Buzzcocks, Undertones, Vibrators). While the sound's fairly lo-fi, the songs are simply amazing, capturing the heart and soul of the genre as well as anything in a long time. 4/15/2003
