The 2nd collaborative album featuring these two Malian music legends is also the last recording Toure would make before passing away in 2006. As with their 2005 album In the Heart of the Moon, this one features spare, intimate arrangements pairing Toure’s bluesy guitar with Diabate’s delicate kora playing. A few others contribute (most prominently the great Cuban bassist Orlando Cachaito Lopez, who also has since passed away), but the focus is on the intuitive interplay between two musical masters. 2/19/2010
