- (Merge)
This Chapel Hill band was one of the great guitar groups of the ‘90s, and after 10 years apart, they’ve reunited – first, with a series of concerts beginning in 2008, and now, their 1st album in a dozen years. Remarkably, it’s one of their finest records, filled with epic guitar songs featuring the classic Polvo trademarks: complex time signatures, multiple tempo changes, and angular but heavy guitar riffs. They’re a bit less noisy and more melodic than before, but In Prism packs a powerful punch. 8/21/2009
