- (Warp)
The Berlin-based, British-born Lidell follows his 2005 breakthrough album Multiply by mostly ditching the electronics this time around for a more organic sound heavily steeped in classic ‘60s Motown, ‘70s Stevie Wonder and early ‘80s funk, and while it’s a more musically conventional record than the electronic-soul hybrid of Multiply, the songwriting’s more consistent and his vocals are more confident and expressive. 4/3/2008
