The latest album from these Brooklyn noisemakers finds them embracing melody and relatively more conventional song structures to stunning effect. Their adventurous, percussion-driven sound is still laced with plenty of electronic and guitar noise, but by and large these are also full-fledged songs with anthemic, singalong choruses and massive hooks. Imagine a more experimental-minded Husker Du and dig into one of this year’s most distinctive rock releases. 5/8/2007
