Deer Whistle: Stranded Somewhere Else
Buy! - (self-released)
Seattle's Gerald Collier doesn't stand still for too long. His music has evolved through the years from boisterous power pop to melancholy, country-tinged pop to outlaw honky tonk, and now he's once again up to something new. Inspired by both ZZ Top and the Meat Puppets, Gerald's new group Deer Whistle bridges the gap between those two bands on their fine debut EP of Southern-fried boogie-rock (which also includes a blistering version of the Stones' "Live With Me" as an unlisted bonus track). 4/15/2002 - Don Yates
