This Brooklyn band blasts off for the stars on their 2nd full-length, a transcendent set of psychedelic prog-rock shaded with doo wop and soul that’s built upon layers of loops and drones and booming percussion. Their typically dense production is a bit more relaxed this time, giving their variety of instrumentation and inventive arrangements more room to breathe while lead singer Tunde Adebimpe turns in one powerful performance after another. 8/29/2006
