Love is All: Nine Times That Same Song
Buy! - (What's Your Rupture)
This Swedish band debuts with an excellent outing of raw dance-punk featuring lead vocalist Josephine Olausson singing in an endearingly youthful yelp over angular dance rhythms. The band’s often-raucous sound is filtered through echo-heavy, lo-fi production and includes some primitive saxophone (a la X-Ray Spex) added to the basic rock lineup. While Love is All hearkens back to early British post-punk groups like X-Ray Spex and Essential Logic (not to mention the modern Scottish band Life Without Buildings), they have an infectious enthusiasm all their own. Released last year in Sweden, and now available in the US. 4/20/2006 - Don Yates
