The second album from this former member of the militant Kansas City alt-country band the Starkweathers is another gorgeous, heartrending set of tunes ranging from spare country-rock to elegant country-pop with deep roots in '60s and '70s-era countrypolitan. It's even better than his excellent solo debut. 5/15/2002
