The frontman for Seattle’s Waxwing takes a big step forward on his 4th solo album, a sublime set of beautifully understated folk-pop. Votolato’s evolved into a first-rate songwriter, and the assortment of lyrical gems here are fleshed out with spare, evocative production and his own intimate, slightly grainy vocals. 1/18/2006
