- (Lost Highway)
The second of three planned albums this year from the prolific alt-country chameleon, Jacksonville City Nights finds Adams turning to traditional country music for inspiration. The album is easily the most country-sounding recording he’s ever made (and that includes his earlier work with Whiskeytown) with a raw, soulful blend of honky tonk, hard country and ‘70s country-rock. More important, the songs are one of his sturdiest batches in quite awhile. 9/21/2005
