- (Merge)
Back with their first studio album in five years, this veteran Scottish band offer up a deceptively laid-back outing of shimmery folk-pop that grows stronger with every listen. Blessed with three strong songwriters, all three contribute a number of melodic gems. John McEntire of Tortoise was recruited to produce the album, and his restrained, lighter production works well with the album’s low-key charms. 6/1/2005
