This solo album from the former Soul Coughing frontman finds him continuing to musically evolve – for starters, he’s singing more, rather than the spoken-word vocalizing he used in Soul Coughing. The tone of the album is also considerably more optimistic, and the sound has shifted to rhythmic, psychedelic-tinged folk-rock, highlighted by a number of melodic gems. 3/30/2005
