The debut album from this British band is an exhilarating blend of old-school hip hop, sunny ‘60s pop, uptempo soul, TV action-show soundtracks, Peanuts cartoons, cheerleader chants and more. While their exuberant sound is filtered through some fairly lo-fi production, it’s impossible not to be moved by the band’s infectious enthusiasm and celebratory spirit. 3/25/2005
