- (Sub Pop)
This veteran Duluth slo-core trio is known for their gentle, austere sound, but their latest album (and their first for Sub Pop) will surely throw long-time fans for a loop. Instead of the typical Low tempos (slow and slower), they burst forth with some comparatively hard-charging, full-on rock songs here. Sure, there are some hushed, atmospheric tunes, but overall the album is by far the most aggressive thing the band’s ever done. 1/6/2005
