Comin' From Where I'm From captures the essence of soul's golden age in
the late '60's and early '70's. Rich, gritty and sexy as hell, Hamilton's
beautiful smoky and husky voice and equally beautiful songwriting are
infused with convincingly wise-beyond-his-years grit and evokes more than
a little Bill Withers, Bobby Womack and the like. Hamilton, who is from
Charlotte, NC, has humbly been paying his dues for more than a decade, is
a proficient writer, singer and producer who can front a band as well. The
depth of feeling in his songs is surreal. Hamilton is able to emanate
intense pain and suffering through his vocals and lyrics. What makes
Anthony Hamilton stand out amongst the crowd? Just listen and you'll hear
it as he sings his first chord. 5/15/2004
