This British band easily tops their impressive debut album with the assured melodic brilliance demonstrated here. The band's majestic guitar-pop sounds more gorgeous than ever, and the same goes for Chris Martin's yearning lead vocals. The dynamic production gives these musically exquisite and emotionally powerful songs plenty of room to breathe. Brit-pop has rarely sounded this soulful and heartfelt. 8/15/2002
