Sub Pop takes another surprising turn with this magnificent stone-country album from this former member of the much-revered Kansas City twang-rock band, the Starkweathers. Ireland masterfully evokes the orchestral country angst of the late 60s and early 70s with emotionally wrenching material detailing a relationship falling apart.
