The underground New York rapper follows up his work with Mos Def (together they were Black Star) and Hi-Tek with this ambitious, wide-ranging album. Using a variety of producers and special guests, Kweli mostly opts for a rich, R&B-friendly sound as backing for his incisive rhymes detailing both the personal and the political. 12/15/2002
