This Nashville-based roots-rocker's second solo album is an untamed, eclectic blend of blues, country and rock 'n' roll that's equal parts scruffy and soulful. It's a brilliant songwriting tour-de-force that ranges from scathing portraits of social dysfunction to well-crafted, utterly original love songs.
