Los Angeles outfit Poolside emerged in the early 2010s and sent a big wave through the indie music scene with their self-released debut album Pacific Standard Time. The album showcased their unique and breezy "daytime disco" sound and became a word-of-mouth hit, championed by renowned DJs such as James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, techno legend Derrick May, and disco don Todd Terje. Following five years of silence, Poolside surfaced once again with last year's surprise album Heat, adding more uptempo rhythms and shimmering guitars to their sunny, laid-back sound.
