Alex Ruder

Lushlife is the alias of Philadelphia-based musician and indie hip-hop artist Raj Haldar. He's released a handful of critically-acclaimed solo albums since emerging on the music scene in 2005, and he frequently embraces a strong collaborative spirit, working with artists such as Shabazz Palaces, Ariel Pink, Killer Mike, RJD2, Freeway, Marissa Nadler, and many more. On top of his studio creations, Lushlife also serves as the current in-house DJ for the Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles! Lushlife's exclusive guest mix for Midnight in a Perfect World is a fascinating journey through the unique sounds and artists that helped inspire his new project The Skull Eclipses, an experimental hip-hop collaboration with Austin-based musician Botany, who recently released a self-titled debut album on Western Vinyl Records. Featuring influential 1990s throwbacks, contemporary faves, and a few selections off their new album, this mix connects the old with the new in brilliant fashion.
