Yesterday, Neko Case teased that something new would be heading our way and some super sleuths figured out that it was a new album called Hell-On due out for release on June 1 and it turns out they were correct. Today, Case has officially announced the forthcoming release of Hell-On via Anti- and shared the album's lead single and title track. The album was self-produced by Case with assistance on six of the tracks by Bjorn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John. The press release describes the album as "simultaneously her most accessible and most challenging album, in a rich and varied career that's offered plenty of both." Seattle singer/songwriter Damien Jurado has announced his self-produced thirteenth album, The Horizon Just Laughed. He's also shared the album's first single, "Over Rainbows and Rainier." The hushed acoustic song speaks of the beauty of Mount Rainier, while the accompanying video by Jordan Halland puts it into visuals as Jurado drives a scenic road in a classic blue volvo intercut with majestic visuals of the Northwest woodlands, with an especially beautiful culminating shot of Rainier. The Horizon Just Laughed will be out May 4 from Secretly Canadian. It follows up 2016's Visions of Us on the Land, which was the final chapter of a trilogy that began with 2012's Maraqopa. [ Stereogum ]

The Record Store Day 2018 releases have been announced and one of the many exciting releases comes from The National, who are putting out a live album of their performance in Brussels last November where they surprised the audience by performing their 2007 album Boxer in full. Boxer: Live in Brussels will be released via 4AD. Other notable releases include a Sufjan Stevens 10" of songs from Call Me By Your Name, including the Grammy-nominated "Mystery of Love" as well as a reissue from Arcade Fire of their debut self-titled EP. Record Store Day is Saturday, April 21. [ Pitchfork ]

Anderson .Paak is back and making a large splash with his new single "Til It's Over." The song premiered last night via an Apple Homepod commercial directed by Spike Jonze and starring FKA Twigs. Currently, the song is only available via Apple Music. Paak previously stated that a new album was forthcoming and that Dr. Dre had a "heavy role in." His last release was the collaborative album with Knxledge, Yes Lawd!, under the name Nx Worries. Malibu was Paak's last solo album, which was released in early 2016. [ Billboard ]

Half Waif is a Brooklyn-based synth-pop project led by Nandi Rose Plunkett. She's releasing her debut album Lavender on Cascine Records this spring and made waves with the lead single "Keep It Out," released last month. Today, the second single, "Torches," has been shared. Plunkett says of the song: "'Torches' opens with the terror of a world that burns, tempered by the cool reminder of an undying coast somewhere nearby. It then imagines what happens when that lit darkness reaches you before you can reach the water’s edge—when you come to feed off it, called by the scream of the open, endless road. It’s probably not surprising that I wrote this song in the days immediately after Trump’s election, driving through Texas on a stretch of highway." Lavender is out April 27. [ Paste ]
