The past few months have been overwhelming with the relentless barrage of natural disasters around the globe. Now is the time for people to come together to help support these communities struggling to rebuild their homes and providing the resources necessary to survive. This Wednesday, local artists will be doing there part to give back to these communities.

Tonight, Seattle's Beat Connection will host a benefit show at Neumos raising money for disaster relief for Houston, Mexico City, and Puerto Rico. They'll be joined alongside local DJs Zoolab and Beeba. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Brigada de Rescate Topos Tlaltelolco A.C., United Way of Greater Houston, and the GlobalGiving Huricane Irma & Maria Relief Fund. All proceeds from merch will also go to United We Dream Action to benefit DACA recipients. Local businesses around Capitol Hill will also be donating a portion of their sales for the evening.

Beat Connection provided more insight about the event in a statement to KEXP:

"First of all, we want to give a huge thank you to Neumos, Zoolab, Beeba and Ticketfly, all of who stepped up to make this night possible. We were all feeling a little hopeless and aimless in the wake of all the tragedies that had occurred (and continue to occur) and wanted to take a moment to bring people together to simultaneously take their minds off things and do something to help with the relief efforts. We really do believe that music has a special power to bring people together and are very excited to be getting on stage on Wednesday!"
Tickets are available now and Ticketfly is waiving fees for the event. If you are unable to make the event, we encourage you to donate to these causes directly.
