Portland synth pop legends STRFKR are no strangers to KEXP, but they came through the studio once again after returning stateside from a quick jaunt over to Japan and played a quick set that included cuts spanning their whole career. Their sound has often been difficult to define: at times straight-ahead pop, at times a pounding techno, bouncing basslines from the later days of disco, all anchoring down ethereal falsetto lyrics and Alan Watts samples. But they're back on the road to promote an as-of-yet unnamed followup to 2013's Miracle Mile, which they kicked off by recently releasing the digital single "Never Ever". Check out their undeniably dance-y set with Cheryl Waters and catch them when they're back in town for the Capitol Hill Block Party in May alongside Dilly Dally and Pure Bathing Culture.
