Thunderstorms did nothing to dampen the fun of Decibel Festival Night at 2015 Concerts at the Mural last Friday. Shaprece, Manatee Commune, and Natasha Kmeto provided a lovely evening of the finest of Pacific Northwest electronic music, from inside the comfort of a dry Seattle Center Armory. Smiles were rampant, dancing feet were common, and everyone seemed more than content to sit on the Armory floor and enjoy the evening of sonic exploration.

Shaprece kicked off the night with the always lovely blend of electronic beats and live cello courtesy of IG88 and Phillip Peterson backing her floating vocals. Her set certainly got everyone present excited for two huge upcoming local shows Shaprece will play in the near future. She plays Showbox SoDo on September 27th for Decibel Festival before she teams up with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra to play Benaroya Hall on October 29th in anticipation of her first full length album dropping on October 30th.

Shaprece:

Multi-instrumentalist and Seattle favorite Manatee Commune took the stage next to deliver a set full of natural sound samples intwined with live guitar and viola. Kids from the audience were recruited to help him on percussion duty as well. You can catch him again on September 26th at the Showbox during Decibel Festival.

Manatee Commune:

Natasha Kmeto made the trip from Portland to close out the day at the armory. She needed nothing more than a laptop, a MPC, a synth and her voice to completely captivate the crowd. Her sparse beats and full, powerful voice, echoed throughout the armory offering the perfect ending to a great evening of electronic music. Natasha Kmeto will be playing Decibel Festival September 24th at Re-bar. Her new LP, Inevitable will also be out on September 18th.

Natasha Kmeto:

For more free music rain or shine, join KEXP and Seattle Center every Friday evening in August. This Friday, it's Donor Appreciation Night, featuring The Coup, Pillar Point, Sassy Black, and the Piano in the Parks winner! More information here.
