Of the sessions we've presented so far in our weekly series of Polish bands KEXP recorded while at the OFF Festival in Katowice, the music so far has been either experimental (Kristen and Olo Walicki Kaszebe II) or re-interpretations of traditional sounds (Hańba and Sutari), but as terrific as those artists might be, there are plenty of others pursuing more contemporary trends like dance and electronica. One of Poland's most exciting new acts is Małe Miasta, a duo that combines both sound and vision in interesting ways. Though their name translates to "small town", their sound transcends regional borders. Both electronic producers and visual artists, Mateusz Holak and Mateusz Gudel present their blended styles of hip-hop, R&B and electronic dance music with eye-cachingly minimal monochromatic design. By day, they're hip young ad execs. By night, they're a dancefloor dynamo.

Watch as Małe Miasta bring their cosmopolitan composure to the gritty post-industrial space of Fabryka Porcelany Śląskiej, the historic porcelain factory in Katowice, where we recorded an exclusive live set. Then, check back next Tuesday for more in our series of Polish artists recorded by KEXP in Katowice, Poland, made possible by the OFF Festival and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute's Don’t Panic! We’re from Poland! initiative.
