French pop icons Phoenix have unveiled part one in the their four-part mini-documentary, INITIALS P.H.O.E.N.I.X. Directed by Guillaume Delaperriere, the films will give a behind-the-scenes look at the making of last year's full-length, Banktrupt! Watch part one below: [Under the Radar]

From '60s mod to '70s funk, Of Montreal have always been masters of transformation. Now they take on '80s heavy metal under the pseudonym Hammer Throw for the soundtrack to the upcoming nostalgia film, Ping Pong Summer. Check out the film's anthem "Young Champion" below: [Stereogum]

Noise pop duo Crocodiles are heading back on the road in support of last year's release, Crimes of Passion (which was produced by the Raveonettes' Sune Rose Wagner). The lengthy tour kicks off July 24th, with a August 5th stop at the Sunset Tavern. [Under the Radar]

Foster the People's twisted video for "Best Friend" definitely seems to be a part of a much larger theme, especially considering the album is titled Supermodel. In an interview with MTV, frontman Mark Foster explained, "It’s a commentary on the modeling industry and the fashion industry and the pressures women feel and girls feel every day. It’s a playful take on that; it’s not too heavy handed." Playful is one word for it. It's quite the eye opener when you watch statuesque models LITERALLY devour each other in an attempt to reach unattainable standards of beauty. Check it out. [CoS]

Last night, The Rolling Stones had a surprise guest join them onstage in Lisbon. Bruce Springsteen lent his voice to an entergetic version of the Stone's classic "Tumbling Dice." fans were not expecting. This isn't the first time these two powerhouses have collaborated, a few years ago The Boss and Mick Jagger and co. performed together in New Jersey (obviously), but Bruce showing up in Portugal? Color me surprised. [Stereogum]

Kiernan Hebden, better known as Four Tet, worked a bit of his remix magic on Sia's latest hit "Chandelier." While the differences between this version and the original are subtle, Four Tet strips a lot of the noise and allows Sia's voice to really soar. [CoS]
