Few band names are as apt as The Cave Singers. Not quite a folk band and definitely not your typical indie rock band, The Cave Singers seem to have hatched their sound in seclusion, as if alone amid darkness and firelight. Their songs are rustic in style but not necessarily in execution, airy but also often droning, haunting at times but ultimately rejoiceful -- in all, totally unique and instantly recognizable. Now on their fourth album, they guys (Pete, Derek and Marty) continue to widen their musical vista and have taken in Morgan Henderson (The Blood Brothers, Past Lives) to fill out their melodies with bass and flute. To commemorate the release of Naomi, the four of them dropped by the Morning Show with John to play four new songs. Watch the full session here:
