Sunny, scuzzy, moody and melodic - somehow Crocodiles's music encompasses it all. The indie rock duo of Brandon Welchez and Charles Rowell worked with a master of a similar darkly seductive sound, Sune Rose Wagner of The Raveonettes, to create an update on their punk and New Wave influences like Echo & The Bunnymen, The Jesus & Mary Chain and Stooges. Following the release of their fourth and most concise LP, Crimes of Passion, Crocodiles returned to the KEXP studio — performing as their usual live five-piece with bassist Marco Gonzalez and keyboardist/vocalist Robin Eisenberg and new drummer Robert Moutrey — and left all of their attitude and swagger in their songs during their charming interview with Midday Show host Cheryl Waters.
