The local show
Hi, I'm Lisa, nice to meet you.
I've had a huge passion for music since I was a kid. Growing up, radio was
my source for music and I loved the idea of playing great music for
people. I was set on being a DJ when I grew up. I was so gung-ho to play
great music for people, so I landed an internship in commercial radio and
learned pretty quick that it's not at all what I thought it would be.
When I found KEXP (then KCMU), it became the be all, end all for me as a
listener and I knew I had to work here because it was the place where
radio is how I always thought it should be, real. Real DJs picking the
music you hear out of passion and excitement for what they do. It's
awesome.

Since 2004
I moved to Seattle in 1986, finished school and have been heavily involved
in the Northwest music community since 1994. I've booked bands, been in
bands, worked on street teams for labels, been involved in countless
community events and have been on the radio in the Northwest since 2000. I
love all kinds of music and have a big special spot in my heart for the
local stuff.
