Scottish post-punk band Holy Esque are projecting a third album will be out in 2021, but until then, they've released their third EP, CPH, a collection of rarities, to tide us over in the meantime. The tracks on CPH were recorded back in 2014 at STC Studios, Copenhagen.
On the band's Facebook page, vocalist Pat Hynes gives more insight into today's featured track:
A track truly embedded in the history of the band. Early fans will be aware of this lost diamond. ‘Officially’ debuted at Glastonbury, 2013 on the BBC introducing stage and then morphed in and out of set lists until it’s strange disappearance post - ‘At Hope’s Ravine’.
Inches away from making the cut for the first record, we are over-joyed to let this track finally breathe life.
On a personal level, the tracks explosiveness makes it a close-favourite. With all the early earmarks of Holy Esque, it’s raw feeling coming truly to life, as always, in the live setting.
