Beth Jeans Houghton is releasing her third studio album and second under the name Du Blonde on Feb. 22 via Moshi Moshi. Titled Lung Bread For Daddy, the multi-disciplinary artist took a very literal DIY approach for the record, doing quite nearly everything herself.

"I know exactly what I want my record to sound like," Houghton explains, "and apart from drums, I have the ability to play all the instruments, so I did."

Our Song of the Day is the early single, “Buddy,” originally shared last fall. It’s a deceptively simple guitar-driven song that sees Houghton’s deep vocals languidly croon and, at one point, even yawn to highlight the boredom and suffering that comes with waiting for the person you want to just simply call.

In the self-directed video for “Buddy,” Houghton sexily bathes in a bathtub of spaghetti. Houghton has directed and animated music videos for multiple artists including the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ezra Furman, and Laura Marling and Mike Lindsay’s band LUMP. Watch the video below.
