The members of Portland band Eyelids come from hallowed beginnings, made up of current or former members of Guided By Voices, The Decemberists, and Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks. In their 5-year history as a band, Eyelids have dropped 10 vinyl releases and they’re about to release their 11th which will include today’s Song of the Day, “It’s About To Go Down.” The catchy power pop single is the A-side on a split 7” featuring the song “Polar Bear” on the B-side. It drops February 1 via Chunklet Industries (Zach Galifianakis, Pylon, the Olivia Tremor Control, Apples In Stereo), leading into their extensive 2019 touring schedule which includes a date in Seattle on Saturday, February 2 at the Sunset Tavern.
Eyelids’ third full length, The Accidental Fall, which features production from Peter Buck of R.E.M., will be out in Fall 2019. Watch the video for “It’s About To Go Down” below.
