Dinosaur Jr. frontman J Mascis is releasing a new solo album on Nov. 9 titled Elastic Days. The record is Mascis’ third album for Sub Pop and follows 2014’s Tied to a Star. The lead single off the album and our Song of the Day, “See You At The Movies,” is a soft folky strummer punctuated by a couple of electric guitar solos. Elastic Days features cameos from Black Heart Procession’s Pall Jenkins, Miracle Legion’s Mark Mulcahy, and Luluc’s Zoë Randell and was recorded at Mascis’ Bisquiteen studio in Massachusetts.
A tour behind Elastic Days will take place early November with a stop in Seattle on Friday, Nov. 9 at the Tractor Tavern. Dinosaur J. released their most recent LP, Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not, in 2016. Below, watch Mascis' solo KEXP in-studio performance from 2011.
