Shamir Bailey has become a prolific force within the music scene, releasing three albums in just one year. Our song of the day, “The Things You Loved,” comes off of March’s surprise-release Resolution. After dropping Revelations just this past November and Hope the April before, Shamir is releasing albums a quicker clip than even Ty Segall. Hope saw Shamir renounce his former dance-pop sound that garnered him acclaim with his debut Ratchet for a more intimate, personal bedroom indie rock. Revelations and Resolution continued this trend, and perhaps its here to stay, but with a title like Resolution, its possible the albums could be a trilogy, with Shamir veering into a different style for his next release. Luckily, we likely won’t have to wait long to find out. Most recently, Shamir teamed up with Mac DeMarco to cover Beat Happening for an exclusive Record Store Day 7-inch.
