Not a pair of siblings, but a man with the last name of “Brothers”, L.A.-based singer/songwriter Cary Brothers cites ‘80s actress Molly Ringwald as his muse for today’s Song of the Day. And let’s face it, it’s not hard to imagine this carefree synth-pop tune on a John Hughes soundtrack. In an interview for The Prelude Press, Brothers shares, "it’s the summer song that I’ve been waiting my whole life to write. I like songs that make you step down on the gas a little harder on an open road, and I finally made one.” The track appears on his third full-length, Bruises — his first new album in eight years, which ironically came out last month via Procrastination Music.
