Icelandic artist Gyða Valtýsdóttir first gained recognition with praised electronic experimentalist band múm in the early 00s. Now recording solo under the name GYDA, this September she released her first album of of original compositions, Evolution. Our Song of the Day, “Moonchild,” is the hauntingly elegant lead single from the album. The video for the song was directed by Rebekka Rafnsdottir and filmed between the Mermaid Parade in Coney Island and back home in Iceland.

"My idea for was to show the Moonchild in everyone,” explains Gyda. “The bravery it takes to come in embodiment on the planet today & the celebration of being alive & being in a body."
