KEXP 90.3 FM - where the music matters

It seems fitting that the members of Oakland sextet Subtle met through Bay area uber-record store Amoeba Records, as they describe their own music as a "living record collection in six parts." The sound is an energetically complex and bass-heavy amalgam of experimental prog-hop, twisted dance-hall and nu-jazz elements, and as massive as six boxes of LPs. - A. Boyd
