A wonderfully mesmerizing live set of African kora playing and singing from Gambian artist Pa Jobarteh who’s accompanied on second kora by Kane Mathis. Pa Jobarteh is a Jali (or Griot) who acts as a voice of the people through poetry, song and the continuation of oral traditions. His family is a famous line of Jali who’ve been around since the eighteenth century. - W. Myers
