KEXP 90.3 FM - where the music matters

Kekele is an all-star 10-member group of veteran Congolese musicians, whose sound harkens back to the acoustic roots of Congolese rumba. Led by the incredible vocal front-line of Nyboma, Wuta-Mayi, Bumba Massa and Loko Massengo, and backed by the beautiful guitar work of Syran Mbenza and Rigo Star. During their first US tour in August, 2004, they played four songs at the KEXP studios, including a not-yet recorded version of a Franco classic. - J. Kertzer
