Kirkland Summerfest

Summerfest is Kirkland’s premier music and arts festival - returning for its 7th year in 2018, this three-day tour de force boasts dozens of live performances, outdoor entertainment venues, purveyors of fine foods, local beers and wines and interactive activities. This festival returns to the picturesque shores of Lake Washington August 10-12, 2018. With over 35,000 attendees, Summerfest is Kirkland’s signature event of the year.

Rodriguez

The mysterious Rodriguez is a living, breathing rock ’n’ roll fairy tale. Born in 1942 in Detroit, Mich., Sixto Diaz Rodriguez released his debut album, Cold Fact, in 1970, followed by Coming From Reality in 1972. Both albums showcased a psychedelic folk-rocker (not unlike Arthur Lee of Love) taking a cold, hard look at the realities of American life in the aftermath of the Summer of Love — particularly the plight of the inner-city poor. Hitchhiking across the country exposed Crockett to the street life at a young age, following in the footsteps of his relative, American folk hero Davy Crockett, who also lived a wild life on the American frontier.
