kexp staffBrady Morella : Volunteer Services Senior Coordinator
I moved to Seattle from San Jose, California in April 2006 and shortly after that I discovered KEXP. I eagerly applied for an internship, which I started in 2007, was hired on part-time 6 months later and then went full-time not long after that.
I feel very lucky to be part of such an amazing station, not only for the music, but all of the wonderful people that I interact with on a daily basis. Close to 600 people volunteer their time at KEXP each year, putting in the total hour equivalent of more than 10 full-time employees. It’s my job to help recruit, coordinate, and communicate for those efforts. Luckily, KEXP volunteers are extremely dedicated, enthusiastic, reliable, and hard-working, not to mention super fun and friendly. I’ve made tons of great friends amongst KEXP staff and volunteers over the years, and I continually find this community inspiring and enlightening.
Just as music has always been such an important part of my life, KEXP has been there for me through many difficulties and triumphs. Knowing that I share that commonality with our staff, volunteers, and listeners brings a connection and sense of support that is valuable beyond words.
